After a career as a vet, dealing with animals day and night, John decided it was time to give the plants a turn! With a long interest in medicinal plants, the plan was to produce locally a range of culinary herbs and infusions that would not only be a pleasure to consume but also provide potential health and well-being benefits. Before too long, the garden started invading the field where the sheep had been grazing…
Christine, born and raised in France, was more familiar with the delights of herbal teas and culinary herbs. A keen cook, having developed her own range of recipes using fresh and dried herbs, she turned her interest to growing the herbs she loves to use. Soon there was not enough space in the garden for the rosemary, thyme, mint and chamomile. As the range of plants grew, so did her passion for developing and promoting the healthy benefits of herbs.
Their herbal teas and culinary herbs :
use herbs grown exclusively at Belmont farm, Jersey.
use ‘officinalis’ species of plants rather than novel varieties.
flowers and leaves are hand picked at their peak to ensure best quality and flavour.
are dried slowly and gently, without forced heating so that the maximum amount of essential oil remains in the leaf.
grow naturally with no pesticide or chemical fertiliser.
